Mischief and merriment  await in Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, the original battle of the sexes. This witty romantic comedy shows how love brings out the best and worst in all of us. Fun-loving bachelor Benedick returns from a victory at war only to find himself caught up in another battle: a war of wits and words with the acid-tongued, headstrong Beatrice. Though they've each sworn off romance, their "merry war" of clever insults reveals the growing attraction between them. Meanwhile, Benedick's fellow soldier, Claudio, is head over heels for Hero, the governor's daughter. They will soon be wed ... if the treacherous Don John doesn't ruin everything first. Passionate and blindingly funny, Much Ado About Nothing is filled with some of the most brilliant comedic repartee ever written, and now you can see the play at the Huntington Beach Central Park Amphitheater.

Daniel Conder as  DOGBERRY

"Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the fire that burns against cold, the light that brings the dawn, the horn that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come." [As Dogberry, Master Constable of the Watch, Daniel seems to have confused Messina’s Watch with George R.R. Martin’s Night’s Watch. But how good is Game of Thrones, right? DRAGONS! Anyway, Daniel is a fan of stuff, and loves his wife Katt (Margaret), especially for putting up with his idiocy. M.T.F.B.W.Y.]

Hello, and welcome, to Alchemy Theatre Company's production of Much Ado About Nothing!

When I was about 9 years old my family and I walked down the street to a little park at the end of our block to see Shakespeare in the Park, The Taming of the Shrew! From then on I was hooked; outdoor theatre was amazing in my book! But, if you had told me then that I would be directing Much Ado About Nothing in a park one day...I never would have believed you. I was beyond excited when approached to direct this show!

This production has taught me so much and I have everyone involved to thank! Thank you all for going with my crazy ideas and somehow making them a reality (let's be honest...probably witchcraft). Cheers to you!

Now grab a drink, get comfy, and enjoy the show!
